Organizer:The Championship will be hosted by Badminton Association of Thailand under His Majesty’s Patronage. Sanctioned by Badminton World Fedearation (BWF) and Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC)
Events - Format :
The Championship is an Individual Event consists of Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed DoublesTo ensure that the lower level players have games with players of their levels, it was decided that there will be qualifying rounds in all the Events depending on the quantity of the number of Entries received.
The Qualifying Rounds will be played on 21st July 2009.)
Prize Money: WGP Gold US$120,000.- (Subject to 5% local withholding tax law.) It will be distributed in accordance to BWF Grand Prix Regulations. The Orgaznizer is responsible to deduct amounts in accordance to the law prior to the payments
Entries, Seedings. Draws :
All entries must be submitted by fax or e-mailed directly to the Badminton Association of Thailand by email at thailandopen2009@gmail.com or by fax at +662-2553392 before the closing dates as stipulated below. Entries must be endorsed by the National Badminton Association. Submission of entries will only be accepted by using the attached entry forms.
All entries must be in accordance with the respective National Rankings. The closing date for submission of entries is on 23th June 2009. Late entries after the closing date will be automatically rejected.
World Ranking date for qualifier is 25th June 2009
Seedings will be done base on BWF Rankings date 2nd July 2009.
Draws will be conducted by BWF on 7th July 2009.
Withdrawals:
Please bear in mind BWF COMPETITION REGULATIONS. The last date of withdrawal without penalty: 5 July 2009
Regulations : :
The Championships will be held under the rules and regulations of BWF.
Clothing & Advertising: :
The BWF Competition Regulations regarding Clothing and Advertising shall be strictly followed.
Dispute ::
In matters involving disputes over the plays throughout the Championships, the referee's decisions will be final.

To ensure the availability of rooms, all bookings must reach BAT. no later than June, 25th. , 2009. The tournament Stadium is within a short walking distance from the Novotel Siam.
All accounts should be settled with the hotel directly.

Practice ::
The Organizing Committee will arrange practice schedule according to the size and arrival time of each team. Practice sessions can be arranged upon request through the Tournament Secretariat and is subject to court availability.
Transportation:
Transportation will be provided between airport and the official hotels upon arrival and departure,and between airport/hotel/airport. Your arrival time/Flight details, number of persons etc. must reach BAT. before . 10th. July, 2009, otherwise the Secretariat will not be able to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel for your team.
Visa:
All players and officials who require visa to enter Thailand and needed
assistance, kindly submit full names/ passport no/ date of issue & expiry, date&place of birth to Badminton Association of Thailand by e-mail at

Indemnity :
All participating Associations and its despatched competitos/officials should agree to indemnify and hold the organizing committee free & harmless from and against any claims for personal sickness,injury, death or property damage, arising out of or in any way resulting from the participation to the said tournament.
